Sum 2 2019
Year 1 Travel Go Back in Time
Year one had a great day out at Styal Mill. They went to the Apprentice house to find out how the children would have lived experiencing what life was like for them back then!
They even had a go at many of the jobs ( some were better than others!!!)
Year 2 learn to sew
As part of the DT curriculum in Key Stage 1, children have the opportunity to learn how to hand sew. For young children,it helps to let their hands manipulate the needle and thread and gain an understanding of the thread going up and down and securing itself to the fabric (or in our case a plate!).
It helps to demonstrate in a very basic way, how the sewing machine works. So……letting those fingers explore is a great way that we began the sewing adventure in Year 2.
As our topic is China, our designs were inspired by the 'Willow Pattern Story' using a polystyrene plate and blue thread.
Macclesfield Town FC teach y4 about the healthy hearts
Year 4 have had a fantastic morning learning all about the heart with Kyle and Danny from Macclesfield Town Football Club.
They looked at models of the heart, used a stethoscope to listen to each others heartbeats and took part in fun games.
